Our lift system in our business centre has been upgraded to comply with the Machinery Department requirements. An internal locking system has been installed by our lift service provider. This locking system is to prevent trapped lift passengers from opening the lift door from inside the lift. People has been killed by falling into the lift shaft when the lift door was pried open internally. In order to prevent such accidents from happening, this extra lift device must be incorporated.
At the same time, an emergency battery backup for the lift internal fans was also installed. Should passengers are trapped inside the lift and waiting for authorized personnel to free them, the ventilation fan and lighting can still operate.
Bear in mind that our JMB always want to maintain our systems in tip top condition and we place safety as our priority at all times.
