The Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) hopes to fully implement and enforce the new Strata Management ( Act 757 ) soon to help overcome weaknesses and grey areas in the former guidelines.
Mayor Datum Series Ahmad Phesal Talib said the new Act, which replaced the Building and Joint Property (Management and Maintenance) 2007(Act 663) and Strata Ownership Act 1985 (Act 318), was comprehensive and clearly defined.
He said under the new Act, improvements included a Strata Management Tribunal and increasing the number of penalties from 10 sections to 30 sections.
